Look at the electoral arithmetic, under the reservation, out of 122 seats of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, OBC candidates would have got a chance to contest the elections, but the Supreme Court has shattered their dream. That is, when 27 percent seats are free from OBC reservation, then anyone will be able to contest elections there instead of the caste candidate. Senior journalist Vishwarath Nair believes that it may not have an impact on the elections, but it will affect the constitutional rights, which is not right from the social perspective.
